Abstract Submission
Abstracts are no longer being accepted for the conference.
The last day for Oral Submissions was
Monday, February 6, 2006
The last day for regular Poster Submissions was
Friday, 5 May 2006
The last day for post-deadline Poster Submissions was
Friday, 16 June, 2006.
Post-deadline poster abstracts will not appear in the formal
abstract book but will be included in an additional conference
hand-out.

ABSTRACT GUIDELINES
- All abstract submissions must be entered on-line (see below).
- Submitting an abstract implies that at least one author will register,
attend the conference, and present the paper. Abstracts should describe
original work and contain enough detail to clearly convey the results
of the research. Abstracts should contain a brief statement of:
- the objectives of the investigation, experimental methods used, and the essential results
- a conclusion
Authors may submit more than one abstract. Research previously published and presented can be submitted.
- All
submissions must be in correct, scientific English. Each abstract must
fit entirely on one US letter size page (8 1/2 inches X 11 inches) and
be 500 words or less. Only one figure (image, table or graph) may be
included.

Submission Categories
When you submit an abstract you will be required to choose both a primary and secondary sorting category. The 2006 sorting categories are as follows:

- Chromonics
- Colloids and composite systems
- Design, synthesis, and new materials
- Devices and applications
- Dynamic properties
- Exotic soft materials
- Ferroelectric, antiferroelectric, and bent core LCs
- Interfaces, surfaces, and confined geometries
- LC bioscience and biotechnology
- LC nanoscience
- Lyotropics
- Metallomesogens
- Modeling and simulation
- Optics and photonics
- Pattern formation
- Photoresponsive materials
- Polymers and elastomers
- Rheological and elastic properties
- Structure, ordering, and defects
- Supermolecular assembly
- Theory

MODIFYING AN EXISTING ABSTRACT
In order to
view, resume, edit, or withdraw a previous submission, you will need to
enter your email address and personal password to log in. If you cannot
find the confirming email message containing that password, sent to you
at the time of abstract submission, you will be able to request that it
be sent to you again.

DATES and REMINDERS

The extended deadline for abstract submission
was Monday, February 6, 2006. Late abstract submittals will be accepted
only for poster presentations but must be received by May 8, 2006 to be
included in the Abstract Program.

Acceptance letters indicating selection for oral presentation have been emailed to corresponding authors (see What's New). Authors of posters will be emailed after the May 8 poster submission deadline (or earlier upon request).

Official letters of invitation for visa purposes will be provided upon request.

Oral and Poster Presentation Guidelines have been posted on the website (see Downloads page).

Submitted abstracts may be updated on-line until May 8, 2006.

Post-deadline abstracts for posters will be accepted until June 16, 2006. Although such submissions will form part of the official program they will not appear in the program book.
